Gees, you gotta ask why with all the mod cons an MY came out with such as brake light bulb out indicators, specific door open indicators (still waiting on Ford Falcon with this one! ) rear footwell ventilation ducting, clock in dash, light in ash tray etc that they failed to include a simple headlights on reminder when turn off the ignition !!

Blame the pencil sharpeners??

Someone got a flat battery did they?

Maybe they didn't have the required circuitry to do the job... Or it would have been too big to fit some where neatly in the cab.

Install one Jonno, not hard to do these days. Or get an L series, or convert to earth switching

Cheers

My falcon doesnt even have an in-dash clock yet does have a headlight reminder but somehow i still managed to leave the lights on park & 2 days later flatten the battery so much that even with a jump start it took me bout 10 min to get enough charge in the battery to get the starter motor to turn over...D'oh!

It took me a while to get used to but the later Subie system of having the lights wired through the ignition is pretty cool.

you would be able to wire it in like that if you switch  to relays.

Or as bennie says wire in a reminder, i think you can get them from Jaycar.

No flat battery for this black duck, left lights on a few hours but was saved by a friendly knock on the door. Problem solved with my stereo fit, added the $3.50 unit sitting around a few years waiting for that day. Just got to thinking when looking at MY ash tray unit I have up for grabs ......

These units scream at you, unlike the falc chime stupid thing

Vortex turns off headlights with ignition off ! still leaves park circuit but reduces four at the rear to two
