Hi

My wiring for driving lights is all but done, however one issue i have is where to join the wire from the switch to only work with high beams. Ive tried splicing it with the wires on the light housing however that has a voltage on both low and high beam, so my switch will turn the driving lights on with both low and high beam.

Which wire do i connect to that will have a voltage on only high beam?

Cheers.

They are earth switching so you need to connect the earth wire for your relay to the earth wire on the headlight itself not the body of the car. Hope that makes sense.

You need to wire your driving lights in like this:

This will work - once you get your head around it! I still can't wire up earth switching lights without this diagram! The trick is to find the earth that's operational when the high beam is on, I think you'll find that there's a common positive and two negatively switched wires for high and low beam...

Cheers

Hi, yeah i figured it out a good while ago.

It was hard because there was a wire with constant voltage, turning high beam on cut the power that was what was confusing. Subaru having to be different from every other brand.

I have since installed 55W HID kits in both my high beams and my narva 160 driving lights. My light output utterly destroys the light from Lightforce 170's by more than 3 fold.

That diagram is mostly correct however you need to get the power to the switch coming from the headlights negative (the black wire which has 12v when the lights are on) otherwise you can't control when the spotlights activate.

Also the high beam positive (earth) is the green wire not red (on my car).
