You'll feel a bit like when you did when askin' ya mum how ya baby brother/sister was gonna get out !!

Find a manual, think it says where the winder and window needs to be to get things out.

Be careful with these power mechanisms or keep hands and fingers out of the cavity when operating the switch. I'm not sure why I still have all my fingers intact after 'an experience' with L Series power windows - chucked the lot out and still have manual winders. I dips me lid (with all my fingers) to anyone that converts L to MY Brumby.

Might have something to do with Isaac Newton......

Brumby Kid wrote:Yeah the operating switchs, near the instrument cluster ah? Ok Il probebly put them by the handbrake in the centre.
Re-read and yes the operating switches are in the centre console, neatly packaged in the MY touring wagon console :D I should have got a photo today, or I could get one of Ruby Scoo's MY centre console in a couple of minutes... I'll finish this first.
phantomD wrote:What auto up/down switch under the dash? Where does the normal wiring loom take you - under the seats, behind the dash???
I've mounted the auto up/down switch from the touring wagon beside the steering column, below the instrument cluster. On the touring wagon this switch is mounted on the door.
Brumby Kid wrote:Il probebly get my hands on a twin switch, so i dont have any switchs doing nothing.
Yeah near the gear stick in the centre console is where im thinking, like in the bmw's
I'd suggest that you look at the MY switch cluster before you get the parts for the two switches - there's lots of wiring!! Plus the factory plug and play is simple to deal with. But you can do your own wiring loom to operate your windows.

That's it. By winding the window down to the proper point you can undo the two retaining bolts on the window runner, then move the window either out of the door (if anything else needs to be removed such as outer trim, do that first) or secure it up out of the way.

Then remove the bolts of the window regulator and you'll be able to remove it from the door through one of those holes. Again, it's fiddly and annoying.

Sorry but I don't understand why you have to go through the wiring loom...?

I'll take my hat off to the person who manages to do this.

Dinner now so photos later.

I've already written one as has Matt, link above for Matts, and I'm sure I've put a link to my write up in there for Sunnie the Brumby too.

Here are those pics as promised:

Centre console switches

Factory wiring and plug behind the console switch:

And the wiring directly behind the switches:

Image

And here's an electric window wiring diagram I made up before I did the conversion when I was considering doing the wiring myself. The auto switch/function of the factory wiring and the access to a touring wagon a mate was scrapping was the reason for using the factory wiring and touring wagon console:

Image

To make up an auto function you'd need some sort of resistance sensing circuit to cut out the power to the motor, and to flick a switch and have the window continue down you'd have to have the circuit to hold the power to the motor... I solved this with the factory wiring

Cheers

Bennie

Not too bad having two switches not working? Stock seems good just in the centre console. Yeah the auto function would be nice for both, some things you just cant have. il just use stock i guess.

Auto you could do for both but it would be alot of extra wiring, i was thinking about doing it for mine. :)

you need the regulator it comes as a one piece package generally then you can bolt or pop rivet it in place (bolt it)
