haha i have a quad switch or can supply 2 single switches

Ok so i took the trims off!
Then i hit problem 1
How do i get more accses to it all? Its just metal with a few holes:rolleyes:



Found the pink socket

Along with a massive wiring loom ive gotta go through

no such thing haha you have to be tricky hahaha

yea its fun... id advise taking the window out makes it easier

You'll feel a bit like when you did when askin' ya mum how ya baby brother/sister was gonna get out !!

Find a manual, think it says where the winder and window needs to be to get things out.

Be careful with these power mechanisms or keep hands and fingers out of the cavity when operating the switch. I'm not sure why I still have all my fingers intact after 'an experience' with L Series power windows - chucked the lot out and still have manual winders. I dips me lid (with all my fingers) to anyone that converts L to MY Brumby.

Might have something to do with Isaac Newton......

I will, i think it will be MY windows with mud kings l switches. (they look nice)
Where was the quad switch mounted Daniel?
Also how can i make them auto?

on the drivers door the drivers window is already auto up i dont think you can make them completely auto

Thanks, is it a special switch? or can i wire any switch to do that?
I know modern are fully auto.

Re-read and yes the operating switches are in the centre console, neatly packaged in the MY touring wagon console I should have got a photo today, or I could get one of Ruby Scoo's MY centre console in a couple of minutes... I'll finish this first.

Yeah near the gear stick in the centre console is where im thinking, like in the bmw's

I'd suggest that you look at the MY switch cluster before you get the parts for the two switches - there's lots of wiring!! Plus the factory plug and play is simple to deal with. But you can do your own wiring loom to operate your windows.

That's it. By winding the window down to the proper point you can undo the two retaining bolts on the window runner, then move the window either out of the door (if anything else needs to be removed such as outer trim, do that first) or secure it up out of the way.

Then remove the bolts of the window regulator and you'll be able to remove it from the door through one of those holes. Again, it's fiddly and annoying.

Wiring loom - central locking not working
Dont really like the sound of my own wiring loom unless its a simple circut.

And here's an electric window wiring diagram I made up before I did the conversion when I was considering doing the wiring myself. The auto switch/function of the factory wiring and the access to a touring wagon a mate was scrapping was the reason for using the factory wiring and touring wagon console:



To make up an auto function you'd need some sort of resistance sensing circuit to cut out the power to the motor, and to flick a switch and have the window continue down you'd have to have the circuit to hold the power to the motor... I solved this with the factory wiring

Not too bad having two switches not working? Stock seems good just in the centre console. Yeah the auto function would be nice for both, some things you just cant have. il just use stock i guess.

Auto you could do for both but it would be alot of extra wiring, i was thinking about doing it for mine.

Guess il take it as it comes now. Just need to get the winders, Do i need the window support? or just the winder mechanism with sprocket etc?

you need the regulator it comes as a one piece package generally then you can bolt or pop rivet it in place (bolt it)
