Ok so i have decided to put electric windows in the brumby.
So I have two questions.

1st What is a good product to use? I have seen various on here but there wasnt much info on them. I want cheap, easy, and reliable!

2nd I need for all sorts of reasons. (Broke my central locking:rolleyes:) How do you take the inside door trim off?
I really need to know this and have no idea.

I am hoping to adapt the electric winders from the MPFI L series I am wrecking.

to remove door trim.
uncrew door armrest then bottom plactic can be gently pulled off, popping the little plastic lugs out of their holes one at a time.

did the my's come with electric windows? grab the whole doors

i seen a us spec with them im sure they got power with the touring wagons... good luck finding one

i've got a set of power windows motors and rails from the 1800My wagons if any of you guys are interested.

Bennie has used them and wrote a build thread on how to install them to suit the brumby doors.

You can install the MY Wagon Power Windows into the Brumby relative easily, i did a write up ages ago

I have a complete touring wagon power windows loom and switches/motors/gears etc. The main thing that's stopped me so far is wiring...I need to know how the standard loom can be applied to a Brumby - I assume the connectors in the factory wiring are there somewhere to provide power. I don't want to use the centre console switches as these are designed for a four door.

And that's before you consider modification for the Brumby windows.

So i need the parts from a MY touring wagon then i do a lot of complicated stuff.
When i take the door trim off is there anything i need to be carefull of braking?

Using whole new doors seems extreme but simple, i would just need to put my central locking in the new ones.

Some MY coupes had electric windows, so they would be the best ones to use, as their doors are the same as the brumby. But they are a lot harder to find now days.

And I'm pretty sure there's a link to my write up too. Or check out what was done to Sunnie the Brumby in my build ups and restorations section... That should give you some ideas for your brumby!

There's a pink plug under the dash on the RHS near the fuse box. This is a direct plug and play for the power windows
As for the console, use it! You don't need to hook up the rear window so those switches will do nothing. It's the easiest way to go. The hardest part I found was modifying the regulators to do what I wanted them to do.
Subarino bolted his in and did what they should do, I don't know if his was from a coupe or a touring wagon.

Not a lot of complicated stuff, just annoying stuff. But once you've got it nutted out you'll be sweet. It's just tedious, once it's done you'll love it! Best bit is the auto up and down switch

theres a red touring wagon in someones yard just sitting there its just past the turn off for morphett vale via clarendon

Bennie, Is this in the Brumby? If it is do i just plug it in and im done for wiring?
BTW where did you mount your switches?

Yes this is for a brumby. If I was near it I would show you some photos of it, but for now I'm trying to dig up some pics. Here's the link to the build thread.

The wiring will plug into the brumby wiring - it is an MY after all!

It sounds so simple as if it was ment to be there. (Wiring)
Just mounting the winders sounds hard.
Your switch panel on the drivers side, is it 1 switch 2 switch or 4?

Sorry cam, which switch are you talking about?

The electric window switches are mounted on the centre console and are straight from the touring wagon so it's got the 4 switches, but only 2 work as that's all that needs to be wired in

The Auto up/down switch is mounted on the dash just below the instrument cluster.

What auto up/down switch under the dash? Where does the normal wiring loom take you - under the seats, behind the dash???

Il probebly get my hands on a twin switch, so i dont have any switchs doing nothing.
Yeah near the gear stick in the centre console is where im thinking, like in the bmw's
