AGM style batteries
AGM style batteries
After some scary experiences with wet batteries inside the subaru ( IE CATCHING ON FIRE! ) i've been looking at getting a dry AGM style battery like so to sit in the car somewhere: http://www.fridge-and-solar.net/batteries.htm
anyone got anything good/bad/indifferent to say about these?
The good ones reckon they can be stored inside safely and can even be mounted sideways or upside down if required.

They are expensive but there is nothing better for in cab installs. I just bought one for the old man to run his CF50AC waeco off from battery world (even though work is an absorbed power agent) Its the same size as a patrol/landcruiser and weighs over 30 kg !!! Their design lend itself to long shelf periods and fast discharge and recharge rate, so excellent for an aux battery.
