I need an "approved immobilizer", might like a keyless entry too

Does my 1993 GL have an immobilizer?

When I put my keys into the ignition,
the (aftermarket?) radio goes "beep, beep...beep, beep"

What are those 4 beeps? :???:

I don't think it does,
but I don't want to by an immobilizer if it already has one.

I'll probably ask more later on keyless entry/immobilizer systems.
I would prefer to include keyless boot entry.

Cheers

Sounds like a fat NO.

That beeping you hear is the head unit telling you to take the face of it with you to avoid theft of the whole unit...

You got a wagon right? You don't need keyless boot entry.

What you will need to do is find a central locking system that is easily connected to your immobiliser to work with it when you disable the immobiliser. You will then have to nut out the fitting of this central locking system - it might take some time to get the actuators to mount in a way that doesn't foul the window's up and down movements yet still operates the door locks as they should. You'll probably need a 5th actuator for the rear door - wiring anything in there is painful but do-able!

Then you just need to wire in the immobiliser.

I prefer this unit which can be fitted with an alarm upgrade, I didn't bother with this as no one listens to them anyway!

This is the central locking unit that I fitted to Sunnie the Brumby, only it had a master and a slave instead of three slave units.

Hope that gives you some food for thought ;)
