H6's in an L Series?

Post by Lseriesluva » Thu Mar 24, 2011 10:31 am

Hello, has anyone come across this before? All L Series headlights take H4 globes - correct? Well I've owned several and that has always been true but one that I have at the moment has something very curious going on. The RH headlight has fitting for a H6 globe. The LH headlight has same fitting but some kind of adapter has been installed to allow for a H4 globe. Weird or what!? H6's cost a bomb, so do new headlights. Anyone know where I can get one of these adapters?
Thanks

Hi and welcome Lseriesluva :)

Well here I was getting all excited cause I thought you were going to put a H6 engine in your L.Series.. DOH

Sorry I can't help in regards to your headlights but can only think it maybe because the original owner of the headlight had HIDs fitted at some stage??
You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

Maybe you could find a wreaking car somewhere, cut the factory plugs and wires and solder them back on to your car. but yeah no idea and never saw those adaptor things.

I've found the H6 globes in a japanese domestic market (imported car) Also have different lense pattern & different rubber dust cover at back. Let me know if you can find an adapter!

I'm in the same basket as everyone else - and thought "bugger me, I can't wait to see the outcome of this project". Ah well

What is the advantage to the H6 globe over the standard H4(?)'s??

Cheers
