Hi, I have a '90 Brumby, and the 4WD light remains on, evern though, as far as i'm aware, the 4WD is disengaged? I have tried engaging 4wd Hi then Lo, then disengaging, but even with the shift lever hard to the floor the light still remains on, and I can feel the 4WD disengage. Is it just a dodgy switch, am I just thinking things when I think ive disengaged it and it could be a gear box problem, or what else might it be? And how can I fix it?

Thanks, Matt

the switch as far as I can remember lives next to the Hi / Lo lever under the plastic of the console, it is a very simple operation to gently lift the plastic surround of the Hi / Lo lever and fix the switch. watch out for the plastic as it isn't the strongest and the tabs that hold the Hi / Lo lever cover in place have a tendancy to break

I no longer have the brumby console so I can't take photos but Im sure one of the many brumby owners on the board can :)

same thing happened to my Brumby. The switch on the lever under the console had broken. I got another switch from a MY wagon, but had to change the plug to make it fit the wiring loom.

not a problem, the previous owner of my brumby used a hose clamp and a bit of wood to make the switch work again in my brumby. it was one of the few things he didn't try to fix with locktite superglue
