Hi guys,
I have the speed sensor error code on my car. As you all know its been converted to EJ power. Since its a touring wagon MPFI it should have a speed sensor.
Unfortunately i only have the Carby repair manual without MPFI or turbo L's
Anyone can help me find out what wire it is if they have a manual?
Car is a 89 MPFI touring L seires. 4Plug ecu
Or is there a online manual i can access?
Thx

Its been over a year since if had to test the vss in my rx, but once identified I was able to tap the diagnostic plug under the hood with a vom instead of messing around under the dash.

Hummmm, This manual seems to have a 3 plug ECU.
My car i think has 4. Plus wires don't match:S
Is this possible or i'm i looking at the wrong plugs?

You have converted to EJ , did you convert retaining L Series ECU? or have EJ ECU's also got three and four plugs to differentiate?
Only in recent weeks someone mentioned hooking up cruise control style magnet and sensor on tailshaft or front shaft for speed sensor duties.

You just made me cringe! EJ's should NEVER be run on an EA82 ECU, you should be shot if attempting this! And the wiring is different between the ECUs as expected.
The speed sensor is located in the speedo cluster, I traced this for my conversion and is documented in the EJ into L thread as well as in my conversion thread (which is way too big to sift through now

)
Cheers
