Just thinking about inverters used in car for 240V power (wanna feed a water pump) typical 150W rated, do they require same respect as far as safety and electrocution and installation as home based 240V 10A power?

Sure do, 240v is 240v

Only difference is the mains is referenced to ground/earth, where an inverter has a floating ground, so if you only touch the active, and the inverter is not earthed, you may not get bitten.

What sort of pump are you planning on running with only 150w?

Ive got a 600watt 240v inverter in my liberty enough to run a printer and laptop mains while i am on the road..

If you are really concerned about getting a "shock" is to install earth wire to the ground from the inverter.
Cheers

make sure you get a decent sized inverter for that pump atleast double (300w)
for the surge.

and go modified sinewave if you can coz it's cheaper and more efficiant.

if the pump doesn't run with modified you then have to hurt your wallet and get a pure sinewave.

So...?? I need an earth strap pinned to the ground? Or just well insulated and weather proofed?

Intercooler or water injection?

If you want a high pressure pump for water injection there are small high pressure (80 psi) diaphragm pumps on ebay for as little as $39
