Hey Suba-Dudes,

Want to put an intermittant wiper setup on my brumby and have found one on a MY touring wagon at the wreakers. Was wondering what I actually need to take off the doner vehicle ie I know I need the switch and the relay but do I need to remove any other wiring etc to make it all work? All wisdom gratefully recieved.

Cheers,
Corax.

If intermittent was an option on brumbys you'll probably find everything is in place and it's just a matter of swapping switches, that's all you need to do on an Impreza.

someone has said in one of my posts that it all just plugs in together.

I have got :

Int wiper switch from MY has blue 6 pin plug
int wiper module can with same blue plug and some wire
and a Brumby with no int wipers

is there a stray plug under dash that needs to be identified by pins and colour for us to copy you Matt?l

Sorry should have explained better. You need to plug the switch into the old wiring. Then under the dash to the right hand side you will find a 6 pin plug with a white wire coming out of one pin into another (Looping) remove this and put the flasher can in it's spot. And it will all start working! If not post up here and i am sure someone can give you a hand.

if you pull out coin tray thats on right side of steering wheel you can usually see the plug matts talking about the plug, it can also have a single yellow or blue wire and a coupe switch is better as the wagons had a rear washer on them. just swap switchs and plug intermittant wiper relay into where looped wire is and you have intermittant wipers. if any one wants one i have a few priced $60 plus freight http://www.thebrumbyshop.com

Just bumping this thread as I have got around to fitting the intermittent wiper switch from my old MY 3/84 sedan and its illuminated bits for each switch they forgot to give the Brumbies - getting around to it before a year passes since posting :) Wipers and pisser works as before with up market switch - now to find the six pin plug with its loop and find the relay to get the intermittent position in a job

Was starting to think there are a few more hidden differences in these models as could not find this connector with a link behind the coin box, BUT found it nearer steering column in 92 Brumby. It is white and has six pins, THEN another snag...the Mitsuba wiper control box IS 4209 12V JAPAN has a mid blue plug - 8 pin all fitted out with wires

BUGGER

Pull said plug off to find just six pins on the relay - go figure!
The white six pin plug under dash has its partner fitted with the link in yellow wire.

I unplug and fit six pin relay to it.

GET THIS.... as I turn power to accessories or ON the pissers work constantly !!!!

PLug link back and the pissers only work on request

WHITE plug in car

has Yellow with red blotches,
Blue + Black with yellow trace,
Yellow
Blue,
Red + Red with White trace,
Black

The ones actually connecting to the Mitsuba

Red with White trace,
Green,
Black
Green with yellow trace
thin blue,
thick blue

any further clues appreciated, think I can reassemble the steering and stuff and work at it later. The grey Mitsuba box looks pullable so may be able to get a better picture of its circuit and need to test the in car white plugs wires fort anything
