Ticking from speakers when radio is on

Post by GTlegs » Wed Sep 23, 2009 6:59 am

I started to get this annoying little ticking noise from the speakers everytime I turn the radio on.

Does anyone have any idea what may be causing it and how to fix it please?

if i set my radio to an am channel, i can play my engine through the speakers, if that makes sense, its pretty cool. Maybe try tuning it in better? Better aerial? or maybe its because your wires are grounded, i know that can be an issue with unwanted noise sometimes.

ah yes the damn annoying zzrrrrr ticktiticktick of the unsuppressed voltage

if you don't have one you need a noise suppressor in line in your power if you have one it has stopped working

there are many different types normally the stereo comes with one built in these days

there are a few different types as shown on this page

I normally get one that has a positive and a negative suppressor like this one

any car accessory outlet will sell one
