hey guys first i want to say merry christmas and a happy new year.


My car is a subi 2003 wrx silver, and the boost gauge isnt showing exactly right.
But my boost gauge in 1 and second gear shows 4 pounds of boost when im pumping the car at 6000 rpm!!!! in 3rd , 4th and 5th gear it shows approxmately 14 pounds of boost which is around right.

I got my mechanic to install it, and he said it normal that the boost gauge is not accurate :S. He has tapped the boost gauge near the airbox, on the left side of the manifold. he tried from the middle of the manifold but he couldnt get the bolt off :S

Should i just go to autobarn and get it check out and done again? what should i doo??

make sure the pipe isnt kinked anywhere.

however you wont really hit full boost in 1st gear, but you should be hitting almost 100%boost in 2nd. Too full boost in 3rd and higher gears.

thats all ican help ya with atm. Maybe tapping into a different vacuum line will help the case tho.

As Alex said you will not get full boost in 1st gear( not enough load on the engine in that gear, and realisticly it maters not what the boost gauge is reading it wont affect the amount of boost the turbo will give you , boost gauges are only really to make the reader happy and yes I do have one
