Post by opanop » Sat Jul 12, 2008 2:45 pm

Hi,all I think I.ve cooked my ignition module.Engine EA 81 Carby was running sweet before alternator kicked in. then no spark.does anyone know what coil is needed and what primary and secondary values. Do I need to install a ballast resistor and if so what value. I just fitted this engine to a Gyrocopter . Is there a way I can ckeck the module? or where can I purchase a new module No.HI-070 11022 and there is onother Number on it 131300-0041.
Thanks any input much appreciated. Opanop

If you live in a country/area that these engines were sold in cars 79 to 84 sedans and wagon and up to 94 as Brumby most auto parts supplers will have listings for both the ignition coil and module

Gyrocopter hey ? Running a spare ignition ? Will two modules fit or work in one dizzy ?

Hey mate.
Good to see you had no problems finding the site and using it.
All the best with the engine. Don't forgett to have a look through the technical section of this site.
P.S. Great hot dog mate.

If you need a distributor to run 2 coils, the dizzy of a CA20 (i think) came from early nissan pintara's had twin coils and 8 spark plugs for a 4 cylinder. I have a feeling that ive read somewhere that the distributor almost fits, and will fit with a bit of grinder work.
