I can't give a definitive answer not having done this myself... but I'm sure this topic has come up before. Unfortunately I seem to remember it's a complicated proposition even going to a tacho dash from another carby model. It's not just the tacho which is different, I think the plugs and pinouts are also very different.

Thats quite true

I have done it and it isnt easy. You have to cut and extend several wires, repin the connectors and run a wire from the negative side of the coil.

If you are keen and have a bit of electrical knowledge, i will give you advice

If you have the plugs from the donor loom it would be easier to wire up (dash centre part of the swap). Most of the wires are labelled on the back of the dash so it shouldn't be too hard to do. As said, you'll have to run some wires to the coil for the tacho.

It will be fiddly and messy. But once you've done it you'll love the tacho, I love mine (except on hot days when it doesn't really work properly).

Or you could do what I did - swap out the whole loom and chuck in the MPFI...

thanks for the reply s I have nearly got it all working just need to get the instrument lights to work and the hand brake light shouldn't come on when I open the door ? I have no standard coil (fitted with ls1 coils direct fire) So I have used a pwm output from my ecu to drive the tacho and it works great
