I was having a play around trying to fix a surging problem and noticed that the tube that comes off the dizzy was off at one end. I put it on the likely metal pipe then started the car. It stalled twice then only stayed running when i gave it some juice. Once I had it running for a few seconds it idled fine.
My question is... was it stalling because its something 'new' for the ecu to 'learn' or is it more likely to be a timing issue?
I've currently got a code 12 fault intermittently occurring while driving at lowish revs, thats my other thread in the troubleshooting section, could that have anything to do with anything?
And the other question... its an EA82T conversion in a L wagon from a RX - should this tube actually be connected? It doesn't seem to make any difference removing it when the car's running.

Very hard to tell as most conversions use bits from other models if they get replaced. I'd say it's best to work out what year the engine is from and then grab the workshop manual for that model and then check all the vacuum lines off the manifold.

You should have a dizzy with four pin module inside ?
The advance can is actuallyvac advance/boost retard. Of three cans I have had, all were a little more religeous than need be.
I got new about six years ago from Japan, about 240 bucks , went smoother.
See if you can suck and blow on a tube attached to can to see if it moves and holds. One of mine would hold 2 psi boost, another 4 psi then they let in gas vapour, spark inside caused small backfire, ask for more boost and I got more BANG! blowing my gas ducting and clamps all over the place - crippling a dedicated LPG set up
