which coil for a 2wd L series distributor

Post by brenton » Tue Aug 11, 2009 1:30 pm

hey guys its a long story but i have put a ea81 into my '92 Lseries 4wd, i changed the distributor for a electric (2wd Lseries dist) instead of the points ea81 dist. i was going to use the 4wd Lseries dist but i couldn't remove the pin in the drive shaft to change the lower drive so i used the 2wd one instead.
what should i do with the coil now. i have wired the dist back into the Lseries coil and had the car running but im not sure if the dist and coil should be used together?
can i run the dist to a coil with out a resistor (eg Gt40) or should i just run it with the Lseries coil if its not going to damage anything??
cheers brenton

pretty sure you can run the gt40t with no resistor if your using the electronic dissy
the coil has to be 12 rated though
- 92 brumby, ej22, MT5AWD, lseries low range, centre diff lock, glf5 dash, 5 stud conversion
lifted 3" front 2" rear all rolling round on 27" khumo Kl71's
more in progress ie:adaptronic ecu and sc14 supercharger
