dont bother buddy. EJ conversion. Save your $$

you can NEVER EVER soup up a bog ea82. Not worth the $$ for bugger all power on such a pre-historic motor :) :)

Am I the only one who has had no problems with the EA82?

I think they are beaut and when you can get from Canberra to Moree on a tank of fuel in this climate of fuel pricing - who is complaining.

Not a lot you can do to improve the power though as said. I am going the conversion to a 2.0 or a 2.5. I did the calculations from the RTA website(the DOTARS was down for some reason)and according to them I can put in an engine upto 3.6 litres!!!! bring it on....lol. I wonder if the H6 with slushbox I have in the garage will fit??(I am doing the figures on a Kombi conversion I have lined up - hence why I have the flat 6...the RTA said it wont happen as it wont fit...).

Back to the EA - I disconnect the battery for 24 hours every so often to reset the ECU, do the fluids regularly, change the air filter to a free flowing K and N and keep your timing around 22 deg(if I change it, I get the pinging from hell, especially on hills and on povo ULP which I am using now :O(( )

Seeing as we can only do 100kph in Australia, the EA gets there in good time and is economical in doing so...BUT....I want the EJ conversion...teehee

Inane waffle over. ENDTRANS!

My gen 1 liberty gets about 600 to 650 kays off a tank ( 60 Litres ). And that was giving it a fair bit too.
