Finding them locally is gonna be hard as they are an uncommon thread size.
Whats wrong with the originals, i reused mine when i did my rebuild. I just cleaned them up real good with a wire brush.

Many head bolts stretch when torqued up and shouldn't be reused.
I would try rockauto.com out of the US...will be a lot cheaper than the Subaru parts.

I gotta do this with my EA82 - all the head bolt threads are shagged out - going to put studs in like the EA81 - will reduce the use of the thread as i'm aiming to only put the studs in once and forget about them... I realise that to do a head I'll have to remove the engine but this is the way I do them anyway.Suby Wan Kenobi wrote:EA head bolts are reusable but EJ head bolts are use once. If you cannot source local head bolts you can re-size them to a more common size if you have the paitence to do so.
Any thoughts on the above (looking for criticism that it won't work before I go ahead with it)
Cheers

Nah, going a larger size so I won't be using a re-coil thread - the last one's i put in have all moved so out they come and in goes a massive oversized stud diametresteptoe wrote:EA81 are M11, are EA82? and you wanna use EA81 studs ? Noticed that EA81 studs in some positions rust out yet EA82 bolts I pulled look only just rusty or white corrosion ?

PS seriously thinking EJ...
