Hows it going. i have a 98 club spec 2 with a front mount, unichip, unifilter, and exhaust. running about 18psi. it was running really rich so i put in a new oxygen sensor now according to my air/fuel gauge its leaning out. so now i think it would be good to upgrade my entire fuel system. any recommendations on where to go for wat im after or how better to diagnose if something else could be wrong. i don wanna spend over $1500. any help would be appricated.

When was it running rich? Was it during boost or when cruising?

Does your A/F gauge bounce between lean/rich when cruising?

not sure. ive only jus put the gauge on it in the last couple of days. my g/f drives it mainly n she mentioned that its bin gettin less per full tank than it used to. wen i checked it it was dead empty and only 320km on the odo. the gauge is bouncin now since i put in the new o2 sensor but only from lean to bout the middle of stoich not all the way round like it should. i'm gonna check it with the scopes on monday at work but if u can give me anythin to try before then it would be awesome

Is the car propperly warmed up when you are reading the gauge? it wont give true readings till the exhaust gas temp reaches over 400deg C

There are few things that can change the tune like that one that makes the most differnce is the maf sensor. One of my mates had a 98 model wrx which sounds like similar. Is the uni filter a wet or a dry one? As subys dont like wet air filters as this leaves an oily residue on the heating element. Try cleaning it with metho/carby cleaner just dont touch the little wire element.

its a wet element, so that was going to be my next move. i give it a good run this morning and at the normal operating temp the gauge is swinging from really lean to 1 or 2 lights into the rich is this normal. i was under the impression that it was supposed to go from really lean to really rich and then back again unless wot or backing off
