EA82 Carby rebuild

Hi all
I know someone has recently posted about trying to rebuild a EA81 carby but unlike that bloke im not a mechanic! I was just wondering how difficult it is to try and rebuild one yourself with limited knowledge? I dont really know anything about these carb's and have only ever really mucked around with the old carbys from old holdens. I know many of you suggested to upgrade to a weber carby so whats involved in this? and how much would it cost to get my carby professionally rebuilt, or is it not worth it?
thanks 92subbie
