Cut up 2 gaskets getting the oil pump back on whilst wiggling it in. Second time I was extra careful. Any hints or tricks. Engines an EA82T and still in the car, with radiator already pulled out.

My oil pump doesn't have any (paper) gaskets, only a 3 holed neoprene seal (looks a bit like Mickey Mouse)
I try to line up the rotor housing with the block as closely as possible then jiggle the pump rotor carfully until it slides in. If you are having trouble lining it up, you can cut some lengths of wire (coat hanger or long nails) and slip them through the bolt holes. Just be sure they are long enough that you can extract them when the pump is in place and that they cant fall into block (don't think that is possible, but better safe than sorry).
You'll probably still need some carful jiggling of the rotor though.
