On the old forum there was a thread running on which VL clutch fits into a L-series. Does any one still have this info? I believe BaronVonChickenPants you had some good info on all the VL clutches?

I am currently doing a auto to manual conversion and considering putting a new clutch in as the gearbox will already be out, although the clutch that came with the gearbox seems to be in pretty good nic.

As far as I remember, it was for an RB20 (ie - 2 Litre Six Cylinder) (yes, you read right, two litre six cylinder!) VL commodore - funnily enough, its an NZ specific model and never reached Oz.

The clutch you need being from the Nissan powered 2L VL commodore, released only in new zealand but there are other nissan motor arrangements that use this clutch so you should be able to find it.

You only need the clutch plate out of this kit, the rest is no good to you, for the rest use the normal components from the subaru kit.

Sorry, didn't do it. I just wanted to get the damn thing put back together so i put the clutch that came with the gear box in. I also figured the clutch looked good enough to out last the engine.

isn't this engine the RB20, as fitted to R32 Skylines. the question was raised whether the locally supplied skylines were fitted with them. All those imported R32 RB20 single turbo's no doubt have a larger clutch than we are looking at.
Nissan spare parts listings would be a next step? I've already replaced mine, so I missed out on this little gem of info.

I've seen some RB20 prototype engines as they were trailing them in 1980s at Lang Lang (there are engines from them lying around at Lang Lang today I believe.) Same with VN Commodore using 2 litre engine 4 cylinder from Holden Camira, also did export to NZ & Singapore/Thailand.
