The EA82 is actually wider than the DOHC EJ20, so whatever you needed to modify to fit the EA82t into the pick-up you'll need to do pretty much the same to the hatchback. I have heard of people fitting them in without widening the chassis rails but it's a very very tight fit.

Hope this helps.

Oldskoolscooby,

I know your after photos, but have you checked out the tech manual at the bottom of the forum list?

This'll give you a run down on what you can fit into a MY subaru in terms of cutting the chassis rails. But i don't think there are any photos...

Hope this is of some help...

I have seen an EA82T in a Brumby/Brat. There was no change to the chassis rails at all. The rails are wider apart at the front of the car, then taper in towards the firewall. This Brumby had about 5mm clearance between the back of the rocker covers to the chassis rails. Some new and stiff engine mounts may be a good idea
