The torque settings should be printed on the label with the new head gaskets. Usually done in three steps. They will usually show you the bolt torque sequence too.

Anyway, the Haynes manual lists the torque settings as:
Step one: 29Nm
Step two: 59Nm
Step three: 64Nm

I hope this helps you out.

When setting the cam shafts, remember to line one up, then rotate the crank 360 degrees. Then fit the second belt the usual way ;)

Won't crank or won't fire up?

If it's not cranking, double check the wire to the starter solenoid is actually on properly. These can slide between the female connector and the plastic clip, resultin in a poor connection. Or it's not connected at all.

If it's not firing, make sure the plug to the dizzy is connected. It can hide really well sometimes. Also check the wiring/connections at the coil.

Let us know how you go and we'll see what else can be thought of with a little more info ;)

Are you lining up the three timing marks on the flywheel or the TDC?

You need to find three little lines off to one side of the timing marks, use these to reference for crank alignment.

Fit one belt (passengers side from memory), rotate crank 360* the. Fit the other belt.

If you don't have these three marks as the setting for the alignment it won't run. Good news is the ea82 is a non interference engine so no damage other than the mechanic's pride :p

Yep clockwise. It really doesn't matter unless your tensioner isn't working properly...

A few things:
- was the dizzy removed from the cam box and re-aligned correctly?
- have you confirmed that you've got spark?
- got fuel coming in?
- was the dizzy dropped or knocked? This can result in needing a replacement ignition module inside the dizzy.
- have you got the firing order on the leads sorted correctly?

- is the coil wired up properly??

Got some pics you can share?

Cheers
