Car won't move after auto trans service

Post by Vortex75 » Fri Mar 20, 2015 3:33 pm

Hey, done a service on my auto in my 89 Vortex, after putting the new filter, gasket back in and new fluid (the manual says 3 litres) it won't engage in any of the gears. When I emptied the fluid it seemed there was more than 3 litres there. Do I need to put more fluid in it?

Check the fluid level with the dipstick with the motor running in park - and the car on level ground.

8.5-9 litres for the automatic transmission.

the torque converter will take up to 3 litres on its own.

the differential is a seperate section and takes 3 to 4 litres of diff oil. (not transmission oil)

do you have the FSM which has been uploaded in these links?
