Universal Joint for Forester 00, Rockford in Oz ??

Post by penguin » Mon Nov 17, 2014 2:56 pm

I have a Forester 2000 model, manual, non turbo, 2lt. I need to replace the UJ on the rear of the tail shaft.

Seems that they are non replacable !

Nothing, is non replacable :)

After furious Goooogeling, I found that Rockford in the uS make replacement for the crimped/staked in universal joints for Subies.

Now, are they available in Oz ? I could not find any.

Has anyone used these ?

They can be replaced but they need to be removed and milled to accept slightly larger UJs. I'd recommend taking to Truckline and get them to replace with replaceable ones that you can change yourself next time.
You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.
