legacy lsd diff question
legacy lsd diff question
I have a 1995 legacy 2nd generation, I have raised it with outback struts and am running 28 inch all terrains, I have ordered some skid plates and am now looking to improve the traction some more. Can anybody tell me what ratio my rear diff is and if there are any subaru lsd's that can bolt in, quaiffe makes and lsd but i'm not sure if its for just the impreza, plus its like 1500 dollars, so I am hoping there is something out there that costs less. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance

Stickers are only on gen 1's, the later diffs have a two letter paint code on them to id the ratio.
00, what country are you in, what engine is fitted, what trans is fitted?
There are a lot of ratio and diff types(there is a small and large diff in the gen 2's).
Once you figure the ratio you can work out whether ther is a factory LSD to suit, if there isn't you can fit the LS centre into an alternate ratio.

Agreed, it should be 4.11 but a lot of gen 2 auto's had R140 diffs. You can ID this by the filler and drain bungs. R140 has two 17mm hex head bungs like the engine sump plug, R160 has two 1/2 inch square drive tapered bungs.
Either way an LSD will be available for it but you will need the rear shafts to match.
