Is it possible to to swap the 3.7 front diff crown wheel with a 3.9 without swaping the pinion?

Also, What is the part in the gearbox that would wear the fastest and cause trivetrain backlash?

I think in theory i think the swap is possible but I don't think you can set the pinion gear height.
