Engine oil

Post by Cliff R » Mon Nov 05, 2012 5:51 pm

I'm crap at searching this forum for stuff so could someone please point me in the right direction for the post I seem to recall that dealt with engine oils.
I have the tappet tick back in the L series and seem to recall a discussion on using different oil brands/types in the EA82 to help with this.

philatdarwin swears by Caterpillar branded Diesel engine oil, subybrumby in Toowoomba has thanked him for the suggestion as it sorted his EA82T HVLA's

Thanks for the info but I think things have gone from bad to worse.
See my latest thread re "EA82 Tick/Knock".
At first I thought it was the usual issue of needing to change the engine oil but not now.

I can just picture your missus ( I'm thinking of the prettier one in the Yes Boss Stihl ad), I may be way off, and apologise if so, profusely - does she know about this problem yet ?

Yes she knows, and she is being very tolerant as she knows Subaru's are my hobby, I dont go roaming the clubs/pubs etc and knows I try to not let my hobby interfer with family.
See how this goes as I start pulling thing apart and buying bits
