MY oil pump

G'day all,

I've had Sunnie the Brumby's oil pump out before to re-seal it up, been a few years now and I know I did it wrong the first time and it still leaked. Now I'm about to do it again and need to know if there's a seal kit you can put through it or if you just pull it all apart and use high temp silicone?

I remember seeing two screws once you've got it removed, I didn't touch them and I'm pretty sure what ever plates these screws hold together is where the oil is leaking from - it could also explain why the oil pressure is reading low. There's enough oil in the sump for good pressure but it's just not there.

I'm in the process of an oil change so thought it a good time to do the oil pump so we don't have to worry about low pressure etc.

So if you know if there's a seal kit to use, I'll be keen to know about it, if you've had success stopping leaks with high temp silicone and it's held up for a few/many years I'd be really keen to know = a cheap fix that works (what I prefer at the moment).

With all the house moves recently I've misplaced my Haynes manual :(

Cheers

Bennie

there are two O ring seals under the plate. Frog has the seal kit for around $20. O rings and paper gasket. I done one last week. check also the regulator spring free length and the bypass valve is working corectly

Yeah Bennie.. the kit has all the o'rings but also remember the drain back pressure regulator spring/plunger valve. You'll need to see if that is free and not damaged, cause if that is getting stuck, you'll loss pressure back to your sump. I found many years ago that they wear out in a odd way and one time it's fine and the next its crap. I'd recommend a complete new pump. If pressure is still low after that, then there is other issues.

Sweet. Frog I'll be in contact in the next week about the parts, I might as well get a few other parts too but need to speak to my mother in-law as she'll be the one shelling out for it... I'd love to get the parts and just do it but I'm not all cashed up at the moment (who is at this time of year??)

Thanks for the in-put guys! Paul, I don't think it's come to that yet!

Cheers
