EA82 carb blown head?

Need some help here guys and gals. EA82 overheated to point of coolant bubbling out resviour tank. Was over 200f which is close to boilng. Let her cool down all seemed well. Drove 1000km home seemed to be using coolant, 3l or so during that trip.

Seemed to stop using once home, short trips.
Now I see a small coolant leak pass side head drain plug. Next engine won't start. Starter attempts but gets stuck? Battery cables warm. Turn engine with socket feels tight but loose again per normal, starts now.

How ever few days later won't start again.

What should I do test?

Was thinking leak down test, but need to buy the gauge, eBay ones look ok?

History of car is its mine but before the trip was off the road 2 years.

I can start it now and rev to 6k seems normal but once warm idles lumpy, water in cyclinder perhaps...

sounds like you had hydraulic lock, water in cylinder preventing it turn over, has wter seeped into sump now mix with oil ? A comp test would be a start. I bought ebay leak down tester from a fella with name begin with a G, typical chinese red plastic box, moth ball smell, did not work from day one. Took a lot of emails, phone calls, slow promises to get purchase price back, got to keep the POS to throw out later.

Someone here likes CarGo Seal up from SCA for type of problem you seem to have. Blow any white smoke (steam) ?

No white smoke, though is quite wet when first started. Hands feel grippy when dry again after holding them at exhaust pipe, ie feels like my hands do after getting coolant all over them but that could be just in my head hehe...

I'll check the oil tonight now that she has sat for a few days. Though I have been watching the dipstick and it has been water free so far. I must admit gut feeling as was from the start a head gasket.

So i'll check out the leak down testers and pick one up, that will be the be test right? Let me know brands etc if anyone has first hand exp.

Interested in the Cargo Seal and others exp with using it.

Just to close this thread....

Looks like she is leaking into 1 or more cylinders, into the oil and onto the ground. I Don't expect Cargo Seal to be successful but will try it, might buy some time.

I have a low k's EA82 to put in. So time to get it cleaned up me thinks.
