I havent picked up my ea81 for my conversion yet but I have a weber 32/36 being installed on it for my trike conversion.

I think there will be a fuel return on the weber- can anyone enlighten me on this? If so I have a problem in that the alloy box section monocoque fuel tank doesnt have provision for such return fuel.

is there an easy way to overcome this problem indeed if it exists.

can a 'T' peice be inserted at the exit of the tank?

As far as i know there is no fuel return, either way mine is connected and still runnign fine. And i am sure a T piece into the feeder would work wonders.

there are several different 32/36 webers available some do have a return line to stop engines from dieseling and to limit the pressure supplied by the fuel pump.

All 32/36 carbys should be supplied with 2.5 -3 PSI fuel pressure any more and the fuel bleeds past the needle and seat.

you can just block it off with a blank or run a T piece into the fuel line. if you blank it off make sure you have regulated fuel pressure

Havent given the fuel pumpaspect a thought at all, like a few other things heading in my direction on this conversion.

THe weber is brand new and jetted for the engine.

The vw engine of course had its standard fuel pump (near the distributer and I think mechanical). So I assume the Ea81 out of this brumby (might get it Friday) has an electric pump. If it is a stardard electric pump would that be 3psi or less? if it was ok for the Hitchi carb would it be ok for the weber?. Currently the fuel line from the trike tank only has an after market quality washable filter and that's it abnd no provision for flow back to the tank..

not a problem

fuel pressure for a standard electric subaru original fuel pump is 1.3- 2.0 psi.

webers have a maximum pressure of 3.5 psi or they will bleed past the needle and seat.

if you go for an after market electric pump look for one that is rated at 2.5 to 3 psi
