Shafts for clutch pack LSD

Post by Venom » Mon Jun 20, 2011 4:41 pm

Hey guys,

I bought a clutch pack LSD centre that uses pre 1998 WRX driveshafts. I'm trying to work out what driveshafts to get for it, but i think it needs a set of stub axles that a female inner CV fits onto? Anyone know?

This is a pic of the inner joints that fit into the diff centre.

Cheers,

Can't get a pic untill the weekend. The circlip positions are asymetric like in the above pic. Thats the picture the seller of the diff centre sent me. He says thats how the driveshafts look, but i can't find anyone in Melbourne who is familiar with Subaru shafts like that.

What car is it out of? Definitely sure it's a clutch LSD? I think it'd have to be something speccy like an RA STI WRX or something like that.

Not sure what car it is out of exactly, just that it uses pre-1998 WRX driveshafts (apparently). It's definitely a clutch pack LSD, its sitting in pieces in my shed right now.

Found this add in the US for an 1993 R160 SVX LSD. Exactly the same inners joints i need! Hopefully they can give me a P/N.

So i pulled the driveshafts out of the back of my car and it has exactly the same shafts as what i need for the CLSD. Luckily the inner joints are OK because i called about 6 driveshaft shops and no one had any ****ing idea what i was talking about when trying to source them, and i even emailed pictures.

Interesting to note that when rotating the driveshafts in my CLSD they spin in opposite directions. Same goes for the CLSD in the ford 9" diff i have in my Valiant. So spinning the wheels to see if you have an LSD is a bullshit test.
