Hi guys,

So i've taken most of the bolts holding the box apart. also the two studs on the top and bottom of the box. I see to studs on each side at the rear parts of the box. but how the hell do i take them out? do they have to come out?

Guyph,

Start by removing the top plate at the back of the gearbox. You should see something like this:

^ Scary yes. You need to pull out the cur-clips, carefully work out which one needs to come out first to make one piece come out of the puzzle, then remove the next one etc. WATCH OUT FOR THE BALLS AND SPRINGS - they will fly out all over the place, and if you want to get this gearbox back together you'll want to know where they come from!

^ There are little clips and rods hidden all over these gearboxes. Ingenious idea to hold things in place! Painful to work out at times...

Once you've got the bulk of this removed you can access the gear selector shaft, there's a 10mm bolt (headsize) that needs to be removed to allow you to move the selector past all the forks so you can remove the rear housing.

Once you've done this it is easy street.

^ You should end up with something like this...

All the best!

Cheers
