Hey guys, just wondering if theres a way to tell if the R160 diff is a LSD. Is there numbers or markings on there other than the sticker or is it a matter of opening the diff up to see.???

if it has a sticker on it the sticker will state that it is an LSD

you may be able to see through the upper oil level bung but dont hold me to that

Jack up one rear wheel, select neutral, handbrake off.

If you can turn the wheel easily it's non-lsd.
It should take some effort (breakaway torque) to rotate the wheel if it is an LSD.

i might give that a try, i was talking to a bloke yesterday that swears he has one sitting in his shed, but its got nothing on it to say if it is LSD or not

If it's sitting in a shed already removed from the car just take the rear housing plate off and look inside, it's only a few bolts, take you 2 mins.

And you shouldn't be able to see any spider gears, it should look a bit like a cylinder mounted with a ring gear...
