Hi guys,

So i got an engine for the vortex:p Thx Paul and Glen:)
Today i removed the blown motor and noticed that the dizzy had two wires, is that what they call an Electronic Dizzy???
The good engine doesn't have them on the dizzy. I never swapped the dizzy before and know it must be done properly So I'm wandering if someone is keen to come do it for me for some beers:) or any 'reasonable value' part they need that I might have.

I'll be installing the good motor tomorrow:)
Let me know if any of you guys can help out.
Thx

Try it yourself with a few pics to help.

NOTE NOTE NOTE these are my steps to set at 20 DBTDC for turbo. should not hurt to follow for NA, just to get it started and then reset to 10 DBTDC

This shows where no1 is on cap so rotor needs to be pointing almost directly at firewall when No1 piston is on compression stroke

This is with non dizzy side timing belt cover removed showing where holes in wheel are to line up and where the tooth valley lines up with mark, it is where it should be with timing mark on flywheel set at 20 degrees for turbo. Think if you count the teeth on this cog there is 36 and it has to turn twice to one crank revolution or sumptin... has some significance not at midnight though :)

Think it is the little hole in cam wheel that at TDC lines up with mark cut in back cover, so 10DBTDC for NA may be halfway between my 20 setting at the small hole there , it is 12.30 am at the moment head hurting now :(

Set at 20 DBTDC or near for picture purposes on #1 comp stroke

In this pic you will make out at 9 o'clock position my 25 thou feeler gauge.

It is the gap between the two bits that matter, 25 thou before line up to go zap to set for 20 DBTDC, with fly at 20 and the RHD RHS cam wheel at its position and dizzy in position as pictured my EA82T's and a few others have fired up first shot. I reckon an NA will handle a start set this way and adjust timing to what it needs to be before any more work .

NA may work if you set fly to 10, set the cam wheel to the top tooth to the left of pic and maybe 12 thou gap in dizzy, DO nOT KNOW
