Destroyed Reverse Gear

Hi all, i dropped the clutch in reverse gear at full revs, and broke off all the teeth from the sounds of it, not my smartest 4wd'ing moment.

I'm currently thinking of finding from the wrekers a low range gearbox. anyone reckon this is the way to go? Is there another option, just replacing the reverse gear, etc. I'm just thinking it may be easier to replace the whole thing in one go.

I'll post a video of me doing this tonight, aah damn, everytime i see myself driving bad i swear never to drive like that again, and bam! when im back 4wd'ing i push it too hard.. tsk!

hahaha nice effort :) i did this once too..

whole new box is easier than just replacing the reverse gearset.

splitting the boxes and rebuilding them is a dog, especially if you dont know much about gearbox internals.

Definitely grab a second hand gearbox!

Is your subi only single range? Thought it was a dual banger - pardon the pun!

cheers guys, yep its a dual range, i'll just get a whole new gearbox, have survived for 3 days without needing reverse! it involves a bit of pre-planning and constant reminding myself that i cant go backwards..
