MIG/CIG rear diff in a Brumby

Post by Green_eyed_liberty » Thu Sep 16, 2010 6:09 am

apologizes if its been covered before. had a search and looked through the gearbox section and didn't find anything.

ANYWAYS i had an idle thought yesterday while at work..

could you put a locker or shim or LSD in the rear of the brumby? as the rears are only engaged in 4x4 mode. would it be helpful having it locked while 4x4ing?

just a thought and wondered if you boys have had the same sort of idea.

Yes its been done many times.
There was once a detroit locker but impossiable to get now!
Just weld up and drop one rear shaft out, This will go nearly everywhere 4wd will go with a open diff (you just need to remember which rear side has the shaft in and drive to suit)
And when you want to go anywhere drive over a ditch or jack up and put the shaft in (only takes 1 minuite when you get use to it)
