Hey, just need a small favour, I'd like to know what speed you are doing at 4,000rpm in 2nd gear high & low and 4th gear hi/lo, just so I get an indication of what to expect from the d/r box when I fit it.
I'll be getting a 4.44 cw & pinion and a new STI front 1.5 - 2 way LSD & rear 4.44 viscous fitted so it'll be a bit better geared but a rough idea what difference to expect would be helpful. Ta
I'm not after a rock crawler, just something a bit better than the stock WRX 4.1 set up it has now.

I hope you are getting an STI helical front LSD. I am running 4.44 front diff with a 1.5/2 way clutch pack LSD and hate it. It was set up as a 2 way and the car was almost undriveable so i had it changed to 1.5 way and backed off a little and it made some difference but the car drives like a pig around town and parking. I can't wait to find a helical or torsen from an STi to replace it with

I've got no idea what it is apart from being a genuine STi item, a mate imported it from Japanparts a couple of years ago and it's been sitting in it's box ever since, I know it's worth about $2,300 or more once freight & customs are paid but that's all I know....I'll take it to Steve at MMS this week so he can tell me what it is & the best way to set it up & tell me if it's helical or clutch but thanks for the warning though it's not usually my daily so not overly worried.
Thanks a lot AP, really appreciated.
Edit, looks like clutch pack, here's the repair kit parts.
LSD(1005G-019-083). Comes with Friction plate (1.70)x 6, Friction plate (1.80)x 6, Friction disc (1.70)x 4, Friction disc (1.80)x 4, Spring plate (1.70)x 2.

Thanks for that, so it looks like low is about a 20% drop in the 3.9 box which is what I have, I guess the 4.44 cw & rear diff change over should help a little with the 26" 205/60/16's to make it reasonable in the sand.
