engine removal ej20 auto

Hi, I need to pull the engine out of the L to replace head gaskets/ oil seals etc. but I don't want to take the auto gearbox out. I have got everything disconnected but I am wondering how to separate the flexplate from the torque converter, if that is even possible?
I usually did that on other engine removals (commies) so as to prevent the auto fluid from draining out and it makes it alot easier to split the engine from the gearbox. But on closer inspection it looks like the flexplate is welded to the torque converter?
Anybody got any advice to make this easy? Will I have to pull the engine out with the torque converter?
