Brumby tailshaft uni joint replacement?

G'Day Subafans,

I just picked up a replacement uni joint for the rear of the tailshaft.

Any tips / experiences?

Can it be done with the tailshaft still in the back of the gearbox?

Just remove the snap rings and knock the bearings out?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

maybe lucky and get them out undercar. i normall use wide vice on bench with a selection of sockets. that said, the sisters sigma ones got punched into orbit through the tin roof with a 100t press, they were pretty tight!
park car on car ramps at rear and you can pull tailshaft without dropping oil, or just catch oil, you wont lose much, 1L maybe.

Thanks for the heads up. I like the part where the bearings went through the rook :)

Done a few Brumby tail shafts , always out of car entirely, on bench vice - gets rid of that ting, ting noise so oft asociated with MY and Brumby. Time I grease my nipples again

Thanks for the advice ;)

I ended up dropping by Driveline Services at Brendale, QLD. On my way to work they had it up and down and fixed in 30mins and only charged $40.

They haven't done me wrong yet. Good quality CV boots too.
