42,000 km AND centre Diff Stuffed
I have just been told that the centre diff on my less than 18month old Liberty 3.0R spec B is stuffed after 42,000km. Apparently it is common for the older 5 speeds to show this after 100,000s of km, but for a new 6 speed???
Also the new diff is a sealed unit and can have the oil changed to the silcon based oil than many mechanics are starting to use.
At $2000 for the diff, plus all the work to get it in and out, not to mention the car won't be the same again, this sucks.
Anyone else had this problem?

spoke to a lad in dire straits with his 2008 'car I won't mention here' with alternator battery troubles, having replaced both a few times at his own cost, I asked about warranty and got blank looks - the warranty would be on his original bits (now in some1 elses hands) but if he was rescued after hours by a repair guy those bits should have a warranty all of their own.
