in 82 MY series i have a vibration that only starts when the car is hot (it is more like a speed wobble) i have checked wheel bearings with the wheels off the ground and the front ones are new. i can not feel anything loose or anything. when the vibration starts i put it into high 4 and it is not as bad, but still there. i was thinking it maybe the front diff or something like that, as i have not done any of that up! HELP ME PLZ PPZ!!!!

Possibly a gearbox or engine mount?

Used to get this in my purhasedfromrepcocvshaftsstillunderwarranty, well twice anyway, which was enough to build a spare diagnostic shaft outta good bits to swap in before I went back themanatrepcostoretomakewarrantyclaimforreplacement. It is quite a smooth but strong vibe that comes and goes I think from innerDOJ of the CV shaft. Maybe reduced when you shove in 4Wd to reduce the power distribution

ok.. not sure if this is your problem or not but we had this some time ago with a MY series wagon that we fitted 2 new inner CV joints in. After we fitted the first pictured type CV joints we had some vibration troubles similar to yours.. then we changed to the second pictured type and problem was gone.

mine were less than 12 months old and it does sort of feel like a side to side wobble. It was not always there. If it is always there try swap front tyres with rear. Look out for ply separation or bubbling up on the tread, quite often felt with wiping flat hand over its tread. WATCH OUT FOR METAL WIRES POKIN' OUT
