EA82 performance cams

Post by H-top » Mon Mar 29, 2010 7:33 pm

G'day all,

I've done cam swaps in LS1's of circa 270deg sized cams and it needs to be tuned following that to even idle correctly.

Would the same be true for a 4 plug EA82T? And would Stronger valve springs
be a must?

Further more, anyone be selling second hand ones :D

Cheers,
Sam

Yep, I got some eighteen months ago to fix a miss that developed due to the spring tension being about marshmallow strong and the yet to be blasted head shop fitted as the repaired and serviced them. Motor ran ever so sweet with the genuine babies fitted. No after market ready springs available through any channel tried. Waited the ten days from Japan.

Being EFI, it probably wont need tuning. At most you might have to increase the idle a bit to compensate for the reduced air speed caused by the 'lumpy' cam.
Tuning is necessary with carbys because its the air pulses that suck the fuel in and any change to the speed and volume of air entering the cylinder needs to be compensated for
