ea82 2nd jet not working?

hi everyone

i was looking at my carby today and noticed what appears to be a 2nd jet for the higher rev ranges didn't work

i had the engine running and i manually turned the throttle and saw the 1st one sprayed fuel in.
when i opened the throttle right up i noticed the 2nd valve opened but the jet didn't spray any fuel



is this normal or am i missing something?

Got a funny feeling that the fuel accelerator pump squirter do not operate on your secondary venturi, only primary. Secondary has a more gradual operation needing the air valve above throttle shaft butterfly to open first before fuel can be dragged out the secondary jet. I have used zip tie on the upper air valve mechanism outside to hold it open so whenever throttle is squeezed fuel will flow through secondary
