i changed my automatic to a manual diff, now my question, will the manuall gearbox fit with the automatic diff?

Do u mean as front diff? Or rear diff?
If u have automatic it's likely it would have 4.11 or 4.44 diff, same goes for rear diff
if u converted from auto to manual you will need to change the ratio to match the gearbox. It could be either 3.545 3.7 3.9 4.11 4.44 final drive!

It will work, but you will have to change the final drive ratio in the rear diff to match the transmission.

The problem is, if you have different ratios, you will bind the gearbox & wheels as the rolling diameter is different between front and back due different ratios.

my problem is that i haven't got the diff for this transmission, how can i find out which diff i need for this transmission. is there any sign on the transmission or the diff, is it possible that the diff from the automatic is the same as the diff i need for the manual or are they always different?

What model Suby are we talking about?

l-series turbo (automatic)
and the transmission is from a l-series mpfi (manual)

Ah... if its L series MPFI its more likely it would be 3.9:1 unlikely 3.7:1 but could be wrong tho...

You can use any 3.9 from liberty or L series, nothing has to be specific, but the tailshaft flange might be different.. Just as long you have the correct ratio.
if there is a sticker on the starter motor rim area, it should have writing starts with TY752xxxxxxxx something like that... if you can get that its good that one of us might be able to recognise the numbers...

thank you for the answer, in my instruction manual i found some ratio, it means, 1800ccm mpfi 3,7
1800cc turbo automatic 3,9 but when it has a katalysator 3,7
the subie has a katalysator but it could be the fall that the kat is retrofittet
how can i apart these two diffs?

i will look tomorrow for those numbers, because its 11pm in germany and i have to work tomorrow

katalysator- you mean catalytic converter?

If it doesnt have a sticker, The hardest way to find out what ratio the gearbox has, is to open up the oil drain nut, and look for the crown wheel and count how many teeths there is on the crown. If it has 37 teeth, then its more likely it would be 3.7, if its 39 its 3.9.

okay than i think i have to count the theeths

another question, at the moment i change my head gasket, like every l-series i have a tickering at the start, this shuld be damaged lash adjuster, how can i find out that they are damaged, from 8 i can push 4 completely down.

ok i have a 3.7 diff, there was a sticker on the diff
but why are my frontwheels spinning one complet round and my rear wheeles only halfe round?

With the L Series 3 speed auto 4WD box I had in mine before convert to 5 speed manual, the rear diff was and still is 3.7 HOWEVER the front diff in the auto was 3.45:1 at the same time.I think it was to take up some slack?? Car was factory fitted with die Katze converter

For all the labour involved in replacing the HVLAdjusters it is worth replacing/ renewing them on reassembly. In Australia they can range in price from $20 to $60 each!! There was a link in this forum a long time ago for a company in the US that did exchange reconditioned lash adjusters for the EA82 for about $8 each

The 2WD box looks just like a 4WD auto without the 4WD bit at the back !
