Th carb you want is a DGAV 32/36 Weber off a cortina or escort. The choke will need modifying to make it electric. Expect to pay $25 for the carb and $65 for a full rebuild kit (be aware there are two types). All of this is worth nothing if the primary shaft is worn, so inspect the carb carelully and feel for wear. Jetting is another issue, EA's don't respond to the later emmultion tubes, the better being the F66, but this needs to be modified. The primary auxillary venturii needs to be drilled out in some instances, but this has to be tested on vehical to see if you carb is effected. I strongly recomend a Jaycar EGO sensor fuel meter to aid jetting as this is 100 times more effective than your backside and right foot. I could go on but i'm probably filling your head with too much info.

Basically you need either a 32/36 DGV/DGAV/DGEV Weber or a 180 Holley
With the webers DGEV=electric choke, DGAV=water choke, DGV=manual choke.
Once you hunt one down, then worry about the rest of it, just make sure theres no play in the shafts.
It'll all make sense once you have a carby to look at.

I hate to hijack a post but I have fitted one of these carbs to an ea81. It went ok till I rebuilt the motor and fitted a small cam. Now it doesn't want to run at town speeds (40-80 kph). I have already mentioned this in another post, when I saw this post however it relates to my question on Jetting. I am interested in your comments "about drilling out the primary auxiliary and modifying the emulsion tube". Could you be more specific please?
thanks in advance.
