Bigger EA81 clutch give heavy pedal?

Just wondering if others know about the differnces of the clutches behind EA81's.
My 92 Brumby has same size clutch as my L series ~ 225mm diameter. Yet it is heavy as on the clutch leg. Is it the lever mechanism difference between an L and MY that makes it heavier? Or is it generally experienced that the larger clutch dia on the EA81 is heavier?

My 84 brumby has the smaller diameter and is better, yet the L is nicest of them all. I know it has a Valeo clutch, the Brumby with heavy clutch is a painted 'reco'.

my last MY wagon had a heavy clutch pedal or so I thought turns out one day the top of the clutch pedal arm broke off and the mount on the pedal box was bent so I had to replace the whole arm and box them the pedal was way better it isn't a very good design I have heard of people putting in the whole peddle box from an L series to ease the problem (clutch brake and accelerator) but there is a bit of modifying to be done

hope this helps

And there is always the cable itself needing removal and inspection. You are so right about the L pedal box needing mods, they are not the same dimensions.

Must say that when my cable finally went, the pedal was getting progresively heavier, until it snapped.
