Transmission problems...

I'm having some problems with my tranny... it won't shift form 1 to 2 until at high revs (around 4000) and it's like it slips when in 3 and floored (revs go up very high) but after releasing the accelerator and applying it again it holds fine... it just started a few days ago...

I'm going to change the filter and oil today but I'm looking for the TCU pinouts and wiring diagrams... the engine and tranny are from a jdm Legacy Turbo ('95 I think...)

how do I read the codes from the TCU? just ground the "monitor" pin and watch the "AT Temp" blinking or what?

can somebody help me? :)

If you have a fault code the power light will flash after start up

Any difference after changing the oil? Was the diff oil clear or did it show contamination with ATF?

changed the oil...

the oil itself was fine but the filter was pretty ugly... unfortunatelly the problem did not go away... still refuses to shift up from 1. to 2. untill at high rpms...

any idea where I can find a TCU pinout diagram for the 4EAT? also, when reading fault codes - do I just ground the "Diagnostic" pin or is there some special procedure that has to be done? I've read in some 4EAT manuals that shifting trhough all gears and depressing the accelerator is a part of the proccess... :?

1 Ign off move to drive manual switch on. Ignition on
2 Move to 3rd manual off
3 Move to 2nd manual on
4 Move to 1st manual off
5 Depress throttle 1/2 way the off.
6 Count codes. Power light flashes slow for 10s fast for 1s

manual?

don't I need to ground some diagnose pin before I do thid procedure?

all the articles I've read say that the "Oil Temp" light should flash...

also... the Oil Temp flashes only once when I swithc IGN on... shouldn't it flash constantly if there were some faults dedected?

I managed to find a wiring diagram and pinouts.... compared all pins with given voltages on the pinout chart and everythins seemed fine except three pins - did not get any AC reading on the SPD sensor 1, selenoids 1 & 2 show constant 12V in all stick positions (they do change when I drive the car and when it shifts through the gears... not sure if the car should be stationary or driven when measuring the V output)... all other pins seem to give all the right voltages! not really sure what to thing of this since the "Oil Temp" light does not flash to indicate any detected faults... :?

maybe my trans is just dead... :(

The power light flashes if you have a fault. The power light should come on with ign on, power switch on or off. No you dont ground/plug in anything, just do as listed if you power light flashes
